The Intersection is for people who are ready to do more than just know. It’s for those who are ready to act with purpose and create change!

The Intersection is a workshop series that improves social cohesion and reduces racism in our communities.

What do you do after you’ve attended a Treaty workshop and learned about colonisation in Aotearoa? How do you channel your feelings into meaningful and practical Te Tiriti-based action with others?

Join us for an immersive, transformative wānanga series designed to move you from passive awareness to active, accountable and relational allyship.

The Intersection is a collaboration between Sarah Morris (Pākehā, Ngāpuhi), and Jewelz Petley (Te Rarawa, Ngati Kuri).

We design bespoke workshops for teams and community groups.

  • Matike Mai

The Intersection is inspired and informed by Matike Mai, the movement for constitutional transformation by 2040.

Matike Mai is based on findings of an Independent Working Group tasked by the Iwi Chairs’ Forum in 2010 to develop and implement a model for an inclusive Constitution for Aotearoa based on tikanga and kawa, He Whakaputanga of 1835, Te Tiriti o Waitangi of 1840, and other Indigenous human rights instruments.

The Intersection draws inspiration from the ‘spheres of influence’ model pictured above which offers a visual model for Te Tiriti o Waitangi relational accountability.
